Does Skip Bayless Ever Have Anything Nice to Say?

Skip Bayless

You know Skip Bayless from First Take, the sports show on ESPN (What, a sports show on ESPN?). Bayless is not one to take the road less spoken and he’s always happy to issue his thoughts and opinions on the goings on of the sports industry. He’s taken on some of the biggest issues in sports, he’s stood his ground and he’s sometimes the man with the unpopular opinion, but it never seems to phase him that others might not always agree with this train of thought. He’s known for discussing the sports industry with some of the most famous celebrities in the entertainment industry when they visit him at the discussion desk at work, and he isn’t afraid to take on their opinions and challenge their thoughts. What some people don’t realize about Bayless, however, is that Skip is not his real name. It’s a nickname given to him by his family, and he actually shares the nickname with his mother. His father called his mother Skip when they were young, and his sister began using the same nickname on her baby brother. It stuck and here it is so many decades later. But what people really want to know is what Bayless is like in real life. The best way, in our opinion, to tell is to check out Skip Bayless’ Twitter feed to see if he’s personal or professional.

Highly unimpressed with Kentucky. GAVE UP 22 OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS TO CINCY! AaHarrison got going or would've been in trouble.

Listen, I’m not even into basketball – it’s all college football all the time in my house – but even I have to agree with this one and I more so just listened to the game than anything else.

Sad to hear Kevin Durant has been shut down. When big guys have a recurring foot injury … long-term scary.

Bayless is all business all the time, but he’s right on this one. Injuries that end careers are not exactly uncommon, but that doesn’t make them any easier.

Still not COMPLETELY sure but think Larry Brown's SMU just got robbed on a bogus goal-tend call. Good for me: My upset pick on today's show.

Well said.
